BIO Age : 22 / Sign : Scorpio Birth Place : Vancouver BC Currently Resides : Whistler BC Height : 5'11 / Weight : 175 lbs Stance : Goofy ![]() About Chris Chris Rasman was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. At age 12, his dad introduced him to snowboarding. Learning how to ride the mountains from his father and his two uncles, he was forced to become a very fast and strong snowboarder, riding at local resorts like Cypress, Seymour and Grouse Mountain. After finishing high school, Chris made the move up
to Whistler BC to be able to progress and snowboard every day. By the
following winter, he had picked up a few sponsors and started to
casually film for companies like Gnarcore Videoplay, Sandbox Films, and
Alterna Action films. In the fall of 2008, Carlo Wein from Alterna
Films, scooped up Chris to be part of his crew. Chris filmed his first full video part for Alterna's "Elektro" (08/09) and another the following year for Alterna's "Hello World" (09/10). He spent the winter of 2010/2011 filming again for Alterna (13 O'CLOCK) and working with Quiksilver to film for there "Cinematic Video" series. |
Quotes- -"I have worked with many talented riders in my past years and Chris stands out as one of a kind. Rasman has earned his way right from the first day he filmed with us. I don't think I have ever seen a rider bail so violently and then just get up and shake it off. Rasman has the type of work ethic and attitude that will take him a long way in this industry. Brace yourself as Rasman is just getting started." - Carlo Wein, Alterna Films producer/founder --" Chris Rasman's the one that got away, haha. Yeah, we want to steal him from the Alterna crew every year. Super sick rider with a super cool attitude and a great work ethic... everything you want from a rider on your film crew."- Kevin Sansalone & Clayton Larsen from Sandbox Films --"Rasman is what I call a YES man. Determine to get the job done and willing to have as much fun as possible while doing so. You can count on having Rasman by your side when it comes to hitting big kickers or pay up for your drinks when he has a Turkish knife to his throat!" - Marius Otterstad, professional snowboarder --" To me, Rasman typifies Canadian Snowboarding: he's stoked, good natured, and ready to charge anything on the mountain. And the fact that he's a second-generation sponsored rider is really cool. It goes to show how deep snowboarding runs in our country, and I am more than confident in Rasman's ability to keep the most important values of snowboarding alive. It's going to be fun to watch his riding grow and progress for years to come." - Matt Houghton, Associate Director, Sports and Action Sports- Sympatico.ca, Push.ca --" Rasman has been coming up for a few years and he shows the signs of someone that is here to stay. He was Beardmore's little sidekick in the beginning and Matt's work ethic definitely rubbed off on him. Whether he's on or off the hill Chris is going to get the job done." - John Scarth, Photo Editor- Snowboard Canada Magazine --" Chris is really helping bring a needed energy and attitude to the new generation of up and coming pro riders. Athleticism, daring, love, camaraderie, respect and confidence; all things which helped me fall in love with the sport in the first place, things which help snowboarding stand on its own, away from some "dirt-bag" lifestyle aesthetic, things that shall remain constant long after hype and fad" - David Rouleau, King Snow Magazine --"Before I worked for Snowboard Canada, I did a stint as team manager for Quiksilver Canada and I wanted to hook Rasman up. The marketing manager was like, "Who?" I said, "Trust me, this dude is sweet." Everything worked out and so far Rasman hasn't proven me wrong. He's also a lucky little fucker because for three years in a row he's traveled to Europe to do feature stories for SBC mag and film for Alterna. His success stems from the fact that he is fun to hang with and is always down to chuck his carcass." - Gerhard Gross, Managing editor - Transworld Snowboarding Magazine |
